I just needed chewing gum

Daily Nixx Archive | Tuesday, 11 March | Respond

So today I’ve been writing history, business and generally doing the washing. That means I am wearing clothes which are reserved for occasions where I will be viewed by minimal people. Such as Bank Holidays, where everyone goes into hiding for fear that we must achieve something on these days which - I believe - are set in law as days when it is illegal to have achieved something by midnight.

All I’m wearing is like trackies and a hoodie. And shoes, obviously. So I went to the shop to get some boost, to give me that essay-writing edge and to kind of, well, boost me. And I saw two people I knew.

Now, both of these people had something in common - they gave me a look which said “what the FUCK are you wearing? you scum.”

When did clothes like this become SO socially unacceptable? No-one can admit that trackies are NOT comfortable, and the two piegons having sex in the tree next to the one person who saw me didn’t get a bit of reaction. They’re having sex in a tree, and I get the look which says “You are the kind of person who’d steal someone’s baby and replace it with a can of Carling!”

What has the world come to?
