Parents often tell their children this don’t they. When the child is doing something - y’know - irritating, like … I dunno, perhaps, throwing biscuits all over a freshly vacuumed carpet in a coffee shop? I mean, not being specific or anything.
So I’d vacuumed it and it had got busy. Not a particulally big issue, I opened it up again - it’s a risk you take, cleaning early on, and one I’m used to losing. But it normally makes it less work to clean up at the end of the day - in the long run, it’s worth it.
There WERE a few crumbs on it, by the time everyone had gone, an the store had actually empited. Being 4.10pm I assumed that’d be it by now - but no, I was wrong - another RUSH happened and we took moneys. Those moneys brought with them a few customers. Thing is, I’d actually vacuumed again - so that all the crumbs had gone.
Now there were biscuits on the floor. Whole biscuits. Crumbs. Sugar. The whole lot. The floor looks cleaner after an entire busy Saturday-stylee.
*Breathes in*
It’s fine - don’t worry. So I went into the Kitchen to chill out and think…”Nah, it’s fine, Nic”…”Don’t worry about it! Happens!”
As I walked out of the kitchen vomitted all over itself, the floor and the sofa. And I don’t just mean threw up - it PROJECTILE vommited. EVERYWHERE.
The parents were very nice - asked for blue roll, etc.. to clean it up and everything was happy. Now this is where my point is - it’d done it once. I’d have gone home then - after I’d cleaned up. But nope - we’re just going to let it throw up again. And it did. And they had to clean up AGAIN. This time, finally, they got the hint.
But seriously - such hypocrites with the “.. I won’t tell you again.”
Meanwhile, I didn’t get out till around about 6pm ish. Which is STUPID for a 5pm close on a Sunday.

Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to teach, to be honest. And as bad as Sadler actually was in terms of repeating words, reviewing subjects and generally being boring, she was actually a reasonably good teacher - she could get things across, even if sometimes she over-simplified.
But since she got herself a bun, placed it in the oven, and then got pregnant as well and has gone off to give birth (I’d have expected it to happen during a lesson, to be honest. She was that organised) we’ve got a replacement teacher. A little, tubby indian man called Baha.
Who let the dogs out, I hear you ask. But no - indeed, he is an NQT. And he’s still reading the text book, I think.
Me and Loretta had, for some reason, ended up in a foursome with some other people - and Loretta made a very casual comment about “Oh don’t be stupid,” while Baha was listening.
And, as if he was one of the boxes that you get in a textbook with a little “key point” icon next to it, he said, in a patronising voice: “When working in groups, try not to be negative about anyone. Give everything with a positive slant.”
And off he walked.
Nice to know those that can, teach, isn’t it. Those that can read the text book, that is.
